Saturn square Mercury transit: meaning, duration and advice
Saturn square Mercury in transit: when it’s activated, your ideas, studies, writing, contracts and the way you communicate are what change.
The square is a transit of friction: something sticks, resists, demands effort or a decision. It’s uncomfortable, and it’s the most productive of transits when you act. Natal Mercury represents your thinking, your speech, your learning and your exchanges. When it’s activated, your ideas, studies, writing, contracts and the way you communicate are what change.
Saturn transits by structuring: it slows things down, tests, demands proof. What’s solid gets stronger; what isn’t cracks, and that’s useful information. This transit asks you to focus on taking on responsibility, sorting out what stays, building to last. The risk: fatigue, discouragement, rigidity. The gift: real maturity, a structure that holds, hard-earned respect.
How long does this transit last? With a ±1° orb, Saturn square Mercury lasts six to nine months, in three passes with the retrograde. Saturn takes twenty-nine years to circle the zodiac: this transit returns about every seven years under a different aspect, and the Saturn return (around ages 29 and 58) is its peak.
