18° Aries: the Sun’s exaltation, the sign’s point of glory

18° Aries, from 18°00′ to 18°59′, is the Sun’s degree of exaltation, which tradition places at the 19th degree of Aries, that is, 18° completed. It opens the Scorpio dwad (17°30′ to 20°00′) and stays in Mercury’s term, within the second decan, of which the Sun is already co-ruler. The alliance is rare: a degree where light is both at home and at its best, enriched by the depth of Scorpio, which gives it an almost magnetic intensity.

Exaltation names the point where a planet expresses itself with the most nobility, like a guest of honor received with every courtesy. For the Sun, this means full vitality, self-confidence, the ability to guide and inspire. Aries, the sign of the first drive, makes it a pioneer’s star: it doesn’t just light the way, it opens the path. Other planets placed here receive a reflection of this favor, as if the universe were backing their efforts.

A Sun at 18° Aries is at its zenith: charisma, tenacity, a clear mission. A Moon here receives an emotional confidence that reassures everyone around; Venus loves with intensity and nobility; Mars is powerful here, focused, almost strategic. An Ascendant at 18° Aries gives a solar presence, a piercing gaze, the aura of a leader people follow instinctively. People sense a destiny that matters, and you feel it too, often from adolescence.

Your lever for growth: carry this light with active humility. The Scorpio dwad asks you to look for what hides behind the facade, including in yourself. Take stock of your deeper motivations regularly, and put your brilliance at the service of a real transformation, your own or a group’s. An exalted planet that forgets to serve turns into a tyrant; one that serves becomes a guide no one forgets.
