14° Cancer: Jupiter’s exaltation, between Sirius and Canopus

14° Cancer, from 14°00′ to 14°59′, is the sign’s fifteenth degree in the tradition. It belongs to the 2nd decan under Pluto, to the dwad of Sagittarius, the sign Jupiter rules, and to Mercury’s term. Everything converges on breadth: a sensitivity that wants to grow, to learn and to benefit others. This degree knows that tenderness reaches its full power when it becomes trust, generosity and faith in life.

A planet at 14° Cancer benefits from a protective atmosphere and a real optimism. A Sun here embodies the kindness that gathers people and inspires. A Moon offers a rare inner security, with a welcome that nourishes body and spirit. Venus loves lavishly here; Mars acts in the service of something bigger than itself. An Ascendant at 14° Cancer gives a reassuring, generous presence that makes others believe they’re capable, and draws in opportunities and friendships alike.

This is where Jupiter is exalted: in the tradition, it finds its noblest expression here, in guidance, abundance and wisdom. The degree is also lit by two stars within one degree: Sirius (14°22′), of Jupiter-Mars nature, which adds brilliance and ambition; Canopus (15°15′), of Saturn-Jupiter nature, the star of course and orientation, which brings seriousness and a sense of the road. Together they make this degree a beacon, bright and dependable.

Your lever is not to let this luck slip into ease. Exaltation is a gift that has to be earned: give back, help, pass things on, commit to a project that benefits others. Define a precise heading, too, because generosity without direction gets diluted. The more you put your talents at the service of a concrete cause, the more this degree returns what you’ve given, often with interest you hadn’t planned on.
