9° Sagittarius: at Antares’ gates, the arrow gets sharpened

This tenth degree, from 9°00′ to 9°59′, ends Jupiter’s 1st decan. It keeps a Pisces dwad and a Jupiter term, with a lively intuition and a deep confidence, but it already prepares the shift toward the decan of Mars, very close by. You can feel a growing tension, that of an archer aiming more and more precisely. The faith of the start of the sign becomes commitment, and enthusiasm gives way to a will to act.

At 10°02′ Sagittarius shines Antares, the red star whose name evokes a rival to Mars, and within a degree of that point, this degree feels its influence. Tradition gives it a Mars-Jupiter nature: courage, ambition, an energy that seeks to assert itself, and in return a tendency to go too far when the momentum runs away. Planets placed here gain intensity, charisma and determination, with a need to own their actions all the way through.

The Sun at 9° Sagittarius gives a generous character that can suddenly turn uncompromising when its values are touched. Mars here is powerfully motivated and has no patience for half-measures. An Ascendant at this degree offers an intense presence, a direct gaze, sometimes a slightly imperious brightness that makes people notice you without your having asked for anything.

Your lever is to put this strength at the service of a vision rather than a mere contest of wills, which changes everything in your relationships. Before launching into a conflict, ask yourself what it will serve three years from now. Then save your energy for the fights that truly matter, with the tactical intelligence of Jupiter: an archer who aims true doesn’t need to shoot a hundred arrows.
